6. Longmen Shiku
This is a grotto, and you should know that it means a lot more than just a temple because of the special sculptures. This is why it is considered to be one of the jewels of China. The site is made of 2,300 caves with over 100,000 statues and 2,800 inscriptions.
7. Mogao Shiku
The place is known for being the most important site of statuary and frescoes regarding Buddhism all over China. Also this is the site with the broadest range that is historical. The temple is located in a desert setting, and in case you have the possibility to see only one place of this kind, then this should be your destination.
